We started the meeting with a tribute to the upcoming St. Patrick's Day with "When Irish Eyes are Smiling" - it needed a little bit of polish, but we pulled it off in some as yet unidentified key.  We learned that Pam Dunn's surgery for her Trigeminal Neuralgia went well and Pam should be rejoining the group in 1-2 weeks, we'll keep our fingers crossed that she will be pain free.  Joe Brand is going on his first vacation in 40 years. He and his wife Pam will be going to France for three weeks.  Lesslie Giacobbi's mom is coming for a visit and the Lutheran High School Girls Basketball team won their division of the CIF Playoffs.  Jill and Dennis Kuli have also decided to swap houses and move to Jocotal Ave in Villa Park to a one-story house with much less upkeep than their previous home.  Dan Cregg noted that all the ladies, with a few exceptions  were seated on one side of the room and all the men on the other- beware there could be a fine coming. JIm Brodsky was our secret greeter, but he came late and didn't shake anyone's hand. Teri Brooks announced that she will be our Secret Greeter next week....

Our speakers for the day were Cathy Seelig and Cynthia Drury from the Friendly Center in Orange.

They gave a presentation highlighting the services their organization provides for the needy in our community at no cost.  Some of the services include:  Preschool, tutoring for kids of all ages, marital and family counseling, adult classes, english as a second language, and providing food for families in need.  Several members agreed that we should begin collecting food to help out and the

club will look into making monthly donations of money and food.

Our speaker next week will be Bob Meyer, reprieving the first talk ever given to our club, he will be speaking  about the D Day Invasion of Europe and the roll played by the glider pilots.  He has been invited to give this same presentation in Holland.
