Speaker- Dr Charles Hough

Dr Charles Hough and his wife are also 5 time National Swing Dance Champions
Topic: Breast Cancer Early Detection and Prevention
Dr Hough told the group it is possible to reduce the risk of breast cancer by 50%;
over 2 million women in the US suffer from breast cancer and there are many deaths each year.
Vitamin D3 is a superstar of cancer protection and each person should take 1000-5000 international units per day to reduce the risk of cancer by 50%.
He spoke about the ability of Thermography of the breast to pick up cancer much earlier than the standard Mammogram. For a lesion to show up on a Mammogram it must be present for 8-10 years. Mammograms also require exposure to large doses of x-rays which in themselves can cause cancer. Thermography on the other hand uses an infrared camera, not radiation and detects temperature changes that correlate with breast cancer.
Vitamin D must be taken as Vitamin D3 to get the full benefit. Eating fruits and vegetables is a good source of the vitamen. Other helpful supplements are DIM, selenium and iodine.

Normal Thermography - green and blue denotes cool areas, red and white is hot
the orange areas are blood vessels

A markedly positive Thermogram with red and white areas clearly noted on the right breast.
Dr. Hough informed us this lesion would have to be present for 8-12 years to be picked up on a
standard mammogram.
More on Thermography:
The procedure is FDA approved, uses no radiation and picks up cancers sooner than mammography.
The cost of the procedure is $200 and is not usually covered by standard insurance carriers.
For more information on the procedure contact Dr. Hough at 714-633-9532. His office is located at 1026 E. Chapman Ave., Orange

Thank you Jim Brodsky for invitng Dr Hough to come speak to our club.
Hope to see you at Irvine Regional Park this Sunday morning at 8:30. Come on out and support our own Bryan "Eddie" Nash as he inaugurates his first annual Camp to Belong.
