Big Holiday Happenings in Villa Park This Weekend!!
Sense Sits in For Santa and Gets High Praise From Family and Friends
Today's meeting began with an impromptu invocation by Steve Stern who wished everyone a healthy, happy and safe holiday season. Milt Stamos led us in the Pledge of Allegiance followed by a reading of the Rotary Four Way Test led by Greg Mills and the song "All I Want For Christmas is My Two Front Teeth" led by Teri Brooks.

Villa Park Boat Parade is Sunday evening and our club will be cooking hamburgers, hot dogs, brats
across the street from City Hall- set up 3-3:30; cooking begins at 4 PM.
Tom Davis-Announced a Tree Nursery Clean-up Party on Saturday, December 19th - 9-11AM
Teri Brooks- sadly announced that the City Council has decided to disband the VP TV organization,however, the assets from VP TV will go to the Villa Park Rotary Club.
Greg Mills attended this month's President's Dinner at the Double Tree Hotel and was asked to give a brief State of the Club summary- he told them about many of the projects the club has been actively pursuing.

Jan Schmidt celebrated her birthday with a dinner at Angelo and Vince's and with a new necklace
Pam Brand celebrated her birthday with Peanut Brittle and a luncheon with girlfriends.
Happy Bucks:
Jane McDonald- Congressman Bill Campbell sent a formal citation thanking Park Interact Club for their commitment to community service. Jane presented the certificate to Diane Markus and Daryl Hok.
Jane and Bill McDonald spent thanksgiving with their son in Atlanta and then went to New York City where they attended several Broadway Shows.
Jill Kuli got to see Cher in Las Vegas, an Elvis interpreter and a Santa; our own Eric Sense.
Bob Kreisberg- Delivered gifts to the Ronald McDonald House, is preparing a new Junior Achievement Program for Villa Park Elementary School that will begin in January( Thursdays at 2:30) and thanked Liz from the Orange YMCA for her very kind thank you note for supporting the Hawaii Cruise Opportunity Drawing.
Paul Hudson-has his cousin Jim visiting from Hawaii and together they visited Disneyland and had a great day. Paul's family is getting together to celebrate the wedding of his brother-in-law.
Steve Kawa was happy to announce that the Santiago Canyon College Girls Soccer Team won the State Championship for the 2nd time in four years.
Liz Martinez was happy to be back and thanked us for supporting the Hawaii opportunity. If you want to purchase a ticket please contact Liz at (714) 633-9622. By the way Liz was recently promoted to Orange County Y supervisor, but will still be spending part of her time at the Orange Y.
Eddie Nash announced that tomorrow will be a Holiday celebration for the Camp to Belong kids.
He thanked the club for our support.

Jay Applebaum announced he will be taking a position with the District as a Rotary Foundation Coordinator beginning next July.

Tom is both a CPA and Lawyer who spoke to us about the intricacies of the current and ever changing tax codes. By the end of the talk everyone was convinced it's a good idea to have a good CPA who knows and understands the tax codes.
Dates to Remember:
December 11th- Villa Park Holiday Home Tour- tickets available at Villa Park Pharmacy for $30 each- Four Villa Park Homes will be decked out for the holidays. Get your wrist band at the City Hall and board buses/trolleys to the homes.
December 13th- Villa Park Boat Parade - Come join the fun as we prepare lots of hot dogs, brats and hamburgers for the hungry crowds- our booth will be across from the City Hall.
Set up at 3-3:30; cooking starts at 4 PM.
