Bill & Paige Bakervacationed in Napa with family and friends to make sure the grapes were doing ok.  He reported that indeed the grapes were doing well and that he and Paige stayed in a home right in the vineyards and got to try some good wines and walk off all the great meals.  He was sorry he missed Wayne Silzel' s Induction last week, so we showed him a picture of Wayne and his sponsor Jim Glenn off the website so he could feel the love.

Millie Alexander helped out at the Rotary Workability Day at the Outdoor Education Center in Irvine Park last week.  She had a "great time working with great kids".

Teri Brooks related the story of how she told the cashier at Smart and Final about the dinners at the Ronald McDonald House while she was checking out. The cashier was so enthused by this that she is going to volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House.  Thanks for spreading the word Teri.

Bill Bakerdrew a 7 and will split his winnings with Lesslie Giacobbi- who was not present at today's meeting. But this brings us to todays talk about Trust.  Bill agreed to give Lesslie the whole $3.50 after the talk.

Speaker:  Anita Jameson

Anita Jameson gave a very interesting presentation based on the book by Stephen M.R. Covey entitled, The Speed of Trust.  She pointed out that there is currently a crisis of trust in our society  as seen in recent events that if not repaired this will lead to failed relationships. In a HIgh Trust relationship there is a real openness that is rich, energizing and allows people to talk through differences and come together based on mutual respect.  Whereas in Low Trust relationships there is a calculated guardedness that forces  participants to take copious notes, its unpleasant, draining and often there is a withholding of information; even being measured and precise can lead to misunderstandings.  Anita pointed out that it is important to meet with customers and grow trust to win business, having trust with employees is also very important.  There was a very thorough handout that had a questionnaire to help the individual see how they scored in areas of Integrity, Intent, Capabilities and Results.  This was a thought provoking and well organized presentation.

Thank you Anita.
